CALS Takes Part in Community Event

On Friday, 25 Oct, Calvert ALS, Public Safety, and the Sheriff’s Department took part in Calvert County Parks and Recreation’s annual Halloween Drive Thru. Attendees enjoyed a continuous drive-through course riddled with haunted scenes from ghostly participants. Calvert ALS supported Public Safety in their Haunted Harry Potter scene. CALS Stands at the Ready

In early October, CALS had the honor of providing stand-by support for a Change of Command at Pax River Naval Air Station. The Change of Command ceremony is deeply rooted in military history dating back to the 18th Century. CALS Responds to Pediatric Trauma

On Sunday, 20 Oct, CALS responded with A249 to a pediatric trauma. Capt McKeever and A249 arrived on scene confirming one pediatric with a traumatic injury. Capt McKeever and A249 triaged and stabilized the patient. M104 (PMIC Huot) arrived a short time after and assumed primary care and provided ALS care. CALS Medic Responds to Report of Pedestrian Struck in St-Leonard

At approximately 1500 today the Calvert 911 system experienced a surge of multiple ALS calls within the county. The ALS units began to respond to their dispatched calls, M101 (PMIC A. Freeman) was alerted to the report of "a man bloodied and laying in the roadway" in the St-Leonard area. CALS Participates in Training with DC Army National Guard

This morning CALS was afforded the opportunity to participate in a unique training opportunity with the DC Army National Guard. Med-Evac units are required to stay current with their skills even when not deployed. CALS Medics Respond to High-Speed MVC on RT-4
Member , September 22
At approximately 1230 today units from Dunkirk, Huntingtown, and CALS were alerted for the report of a MVC with injuries. Units from Dunkirk arrived on scene and confirmed 1 patient with serious injuries and requested MSP aviation. A69 from Huntingtown arrived on scene and began to assess and package the patient.
